Vegan for dummies

Musings of an an 18 year old illustration student transitioning to a plant based diet and cruelty free lifestyle!

Breakfast ideas:

Simple and quick:

  • Overnight oatmeal
  • Chia seed pudding
  • Wholegrain toast with nut butter/fruit jam and some fruit
  • Coconut/soy yogurt with fruit and granola
  • Cereal with almond/coconut milk and berries
  • Peanut butter and banana sandwich
  • Banana ‘icecream’ (Freeze 3 bananas and blend in the morning)
  • Smoothie

Weekend and plenty of time:

  • Pancakes made with chia/flaxseed 'egg’
  • Vegan french toast
  • Oatmeal (experiment with flavours!)
  • Baked oatmeal
  • Sweet Potato Oatmeal Breakfast Casserole
  • Quinoa porridge
  • Breakfast sweet potato (bake for 1 hour and top with nut butter/coconut yogurt/berries/granola)

Savoury:

  • Tempeh 'BLT’
  • Avocado and veggie breakfast burrito
  • Tofu and veggie scramble on wholegrain toast
  • Beans on wholegrain toast

Just some ideas for variety so I don’t get fed up of boring old oatmeal day in day out! Also make sure to drink a glass of cold water before breakfast and drink herbal tea or lemon water instead of coffee as often as you can to aid digestion.

Do people think vegans eat rocks or something

What do you mean think? vegans only eat rocks and salad. Sometimes we put rocks on salad to switch things up though!!
